Call Of Duty Skyboxes

I matte painted these skyboxes for Call of Duty Cold War’s Competitive Multiplayer Maps. I used renders in Terragen, purchased 360 HDR skybox photos and other photos to photobash these skyboxes together. Because these skyboxes provided indirect lighting for these levels, I worked closely with lighting artists and art directors to make sure these skyboxes were PBR accurate and looked as photo-real as possible. I spent a lot of time ensuring the painted vista elements in the skyboxes blended seamlessly with the 3D vistas built by the environment art team. This was especially challenging because Score Streaks allowed players to shoot a minigun on a helicopter or control high-altitude missiles during a match, allowing them to be hundreds of feet above the map, and the 3D vista still had to seamlessly blend with the skybox during these sequences.
